That's enough.
Seriously, people. Stop. Suck it up. You’re life is not as terrible as you make it out to be. You have a home. You have a family. And, most importantly, you have God.
You are extremely blessed.
Just by having access to the internet right now, you experience something that the majority of the world does not. You are richer than most of the world. Yet you complain about petty things.

“It is not God’s will merely that we should be happy, but that we should make ourselves happy” -Immanuel Kant
Sometimes I think we people, all 6.8 billion of us, believe the world exists for our own pleasure—that God made us to do our own bidding, to, as Kant suggests, make ourselves happy.
I…

A New Plan
This year I didn’t make any New Year’s resolutions. I didnt even think about it. Instead, I have spent the last week laying around with my puppy, watching tv, and hanging out with my family. Today I realized I didn’t make any resolutions, and I decided I’m not going to make any. Every year I make a list of resolutions, and I never stick to them. Instead of making a list of...

It doesn't matter.
“They only were hearing it said, ‘He who used to persecute us is now preaching the faith he once tried to destroy.’ And they glorified God because of me.” -Galatians 1:23-24
God can and will use you. You’re past doesn’t matter to Him. There is no sin too big or too bad for Him to forgive. Paul, a “super” apostle, persecuted Christians before he met...

“If I were still trying to please man, I would not be a servant of Christ.” -Galatians 1:10
Thank You.
“Grace to you and peace from God our Father and the Lord Jesus Christ, who gave himself for our sins to deliver us from the present evil age, according to the will of our God and Father, to whom be the glory forever and ever. Amen.” -Gal. 1:3-5

Today + Last Week
So today was an absolutely fantastic day. Since I had no plans for today, I didn’t set an alarm. I woke up at 9:35 and said, “No ma’am. Go back to sleep.” I didn’t wake up again until 1:30! It was wonderful! I woke up feeling so rested! I had some cheerios and watched Law and Order: Criminal Intent with Mrs. Beverly. Then I had an amazing BLT for lunch! Mr. John came...

I'm a little behind....
So…I’m behind in my blogging. No one is surprised. Anyway…this summer is going really good!
Two of our seniors went to GO! camp at FHU two weeks ago. They LOVED it! They light up any time they talk about it. Kassidy said it was the best camp she has ever been to. They had an awesome time and are so ready to get started implementing the things they heard about.
While they were...
Week One!
So today I finished my first week at West Seventh; it’s already been amazing. I’ve been able to meet a bunch of the girls, and I’m SUPER excited about this summer! This week I’ve just been kind of getting used to everything. I spent a lot of time adding the girls on Facebook and trying to learn their faces.
I get to start teaching the 10th-12th grade girls’ Bible...

"They walk too slow."
Tonight, I helped Angela in the 4 and 5 year-old class. The lesson was about the children of Israel in the wilderness. Angela asked them why the Israelites were still in the desert. One little boy said, “Because they walk too slow!” Hahaha We couldn’t help but laugh out loud. It was so cute!
While his answer was very cute, the correct answer really made me start thinking. The...
wisdom from a three-year-old
My cousin, Brittany, and I went shopping with her two little girls last week. They lost their home in the storms, and I took them out for a night of shopping fun! We had a blast! On the way there, we were talking about how the girls were dealing with the trauma. Brittany and her girls are all having nightmares, but Lilly, who is three, seems to be handling it rather well. She doesn’t talk...
Emotions
This week I’ve been feeling a mix of emotions. Several of my friends, including Cameron, graduated last weekend. I’m very proud of them, but Freed is going to be so different now that they are gone. I have driven through a lot of destruction from the tornadoes this week…that’s something you never get used to seeing. I’ve realized how that I’ve been out of high...

If you’re a teenager you need to go to this camp.
If you’re a parent of a teenager, your kid needs to go this camp.
If you’re a friend or a mentor or a next door neighbor to a teenager, you need to tell them about this camp.
I believe in it. I believe in the people behind it. I believe in the God it will glorify.

There once was a girl who didn’t like the life she was stuck in.
She felt unloved and her talents were unappreciated.
She wanted something more than her boring life.
She wanted adventure, but instead she was stuck with this stupid guy who always treated her badly.
He didn’t care that…
